Hey, kids. I thought I should post something, but I have no idea what to blog about exactly. So brace yourselves, this will probably be all over the place - or abruptly short. Or both.
Tuna Helper is tasty but takes about an hour to set up properly. Until then you have Tuna Noodle Soup. I now understand why people make casseroles.
I hate driving on 270 during a rainstorm.
Otterbein offers fantastic classes for Theater Majors - I spent my lunch break looking at the course desriptions and wanting to take them all. Does this make me a dork, or just highly motivated?
I am a legally certified Boyfriend Magnet. Just one small glitch - my power only attracts them for other people. I'm going to die alone.
How did my parents raise a family who didn't have everything, but had plenty and was grateful for it? I'm 27 and can barely take care of myself - my folks had their shit together. I love them, and can never express to them how thankful I am for everything they did.
How can Jesus be the Messiah when Old Testament prophecy states he would be of the line of David and born of a virgin, when both lineages offered in the New Testament trace the ancestry of David down to Joseph, his stepdad? Can you really have it both ways? And, if you can (and this could very well be possible - I am ADAMANTLY NOT trashing a world-wide belief system), but if you can, why does everthing else in the Bible have to be interpreted literally - such as a universe that was created in a calendar week or that Noah took two of every kind of animal on a boat that physically couldn't contain them all? Sorry - just a little frustrated at the fact that my civil rights are dictated by religious beliefs and cultural prejudice.
On a similar note, how can religions like Christianity and Islam be so vilified over the actions of a small percentage of their adherents? I know some really fantastic Christians and have met some really nice Muslims - why the hell should they be lumped in the same categories as Fred Phelps and Osama Bin Laden? I guess people just tend to notice the Assholes and make snap judgements about everyone else.
Granny Smith apples make me poop.
My earlier picture post counts as a post. I am pretty and I have many skills, but what I went through to post one tiny little picture... Grrrrrr. It counts.
As I approach bedtime, one last question to ponder - why do I always wake up an hour to forty minutes before I have to wake up? Then I just get grumpy and desperately try to squeeze in those precious last minutes before I am forced to greet the day, and then I dose off into the most interesting dream I've had all night and BAM! then I'm awake and pissed.
Well, for not having anything to blog about, I did all right. I just typed things down as they floated through my head. I think a lot, I guess. I hope you enjoyed the snapshot of where my mind wandered this evening - feel free to comment and discuss, but Keep It Nice or I will delete your comment and bitch-slap you when next we are face to face. I'm serious. I will cut a bitch!
Peace Out.

I never really thought about the Jesus/Virgin/Joseph/David thing. That's interesting. If I cared, I would think about it more. Anyways, you are a boyfriend magnet? Who is dating now? I'm also really happy that you went to Otterbein to look at the classes. It's so great to motivate yourself like that and to take action. Post more! I have accomplished 12 posts in 7 days. Take that!
Do you know how long I've been waiting to "take it" from a man? Hee hee... um, Jonathan is the one who is dating now. They aren't boyfriends yet, but give it a week or two. Also, I have no idea about browsing back. It could be my poll, we'll see in a couple days when it's taken down.
I always wake up about 1.5 hours before I have to get up and then have a dream and wake up at my normal time groggy. I hate that it pisses me off LOL
Oh, Michael. Your infectious ADD is the source of much glee for me!
Hey, i dont have a lot of time for this one, i am in a hurry, but i will submit that the "seed" of David title is not literal in a father to son way strictly, but in a tribal way. Back then, Jews married within their tribes pretty strictly, unless you wanted to be a cast out. So, both Mary and Joseph are of the tribe of David (Judah), and thus, are all considered David's seed in that broader seed.
His being David's seed obviously is not THE deciding factor, otherwise, Joseph, or any of the others in the line for the 1000 or so years between David and Joseph could have been the Messiah. So, the "born of a Virgin" bit, WHILE being in the line of David is the important bit. And Jesus IS the only one of those. luke, and the other gospel writers also show...um prophetical evidence for Jesus being the "son" of David.
As to reading things literally. Yeah, good call. And speaking for Catholics only, we don't. We are free to decide for ourselves whether the flood was literal, or metaphorical. The "truth" of the story doesn't depend on it. Also, the Bible is FULL of code, and metaphor and etc etc. So, they were not very literal people to start with. E.G. the 144,000 who will enter Heaven, Jesus is a Lion who's name is 888. etc etc.
And...your civil rights are dictated by these things? huh?
So, first of all, how inept of a blogger am I? I just deleted my own damn comment. I'm special.
Anywho, thanks for the response, Jon. No one has ever been able to give me a remotely logical response to that question - you get three snaps and a "Go tell it on the mountain!"
In regards to the civil rights thing, I'm refering to how Christian faith is one of the major factors in opposing gay marriage, or even civil unions. I'm not ready to be married, but if I was in a committed relationship, my partner and I would have a lot of legal hurdles in front of us that straights don't have to face (not that the straights don't have hurdles of their own, mind you). I know that you personally would never deny my partner health care, but many many many people would and use the Bible as their justicfication for doing so.
So, um... yeah. I'll try to think of another theological conundrum to throw your way... in the meantime, keep it real!
Hey thanks man. Glad it worked for you.
Uh, yeah, and you're right: Short of living in an Theocracy, there is nothing in the Bible that would make an American citizen think that it is the responsibility of the Government to prevent health care providers for offering health care to homosexuals.
And, since AMERICA is the OPPOSITE of a Theocracy...yeah.
And i would love some more conundrums!
Cheers buddy.
